Funerals

The death of someone we love is probably the most shattering event that we will ever experience.

The following information is here to help you plan the funeral of your loved one.

The funeral service plays a very important part within the grieving process and by far the easiest way to begin making the arrangements is to contact a Funeral Director before contacting the church.

When you contact the Funeral Directors, they will act on your behalf to find a time and date that is suitable for everyone involved. They will give all the contact details to the Church Wardens who will then arrange for a priest to lead the service.

The priest will discuss with you the running order of the service. There will be the opportunity to personalise the service with your choice of music, hymns and readings. A tribute can either be read by the priest a friend or a member of the family. (You will find some examples of readings and hymns through the links on the right of this page).

The Service

The service can take place either in the church or at a local crematorium. If the service is held in the church it can be followed either by a burial in the churchyard or by cremation at a local crematorium. Arrangements for the burial of ashes are arranged separately
